Scruffy is a cream and brown colored lhasa, whose attitude runs true to the breed. He is 5-years-old, and about 18 lbs. He bonds with one person, and everyone else, wife, girlfriend, children, visitors, are considered intruders. So he's looking for that special home where someone lives alone and loves lhasas, and has few visitors, and wants a good guard dog as well as companion. He is a wonderful dog, and very handsome indeed. But his "lhasitude" works against him. He can only go to someone used to the breed and able to work around their unpredictable crankiness. Most of the time he's a great companion and very friendly, but he's here because of his crankiness. He is reported to have the odd habit of scratching the wall near where he sleeps. Because his bite history might have gotten him put down if he went back into rescue, he is here in sanctuary, but I think he's redeemable if the right person comes along and can manage him. So far he's been great with us, and has shown no signs of the reported crankiness. And the independence is to us a sign of character. The owner's girlfriend saw it otherwise, alas, and let it be known that either the dog or she would be leaving. So, sadly, Scruffy is with us, looking for that special home.
