Gildersleeve

Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Gender: Male

He was Guildenstern when he came in, but he and his supposed buddy, Rosenkrantz, have drifted apart. They were strays who were found together, but I think it was just a friendship formed on the road, for they seem pretty much autonomous and self reliant now. Rosenkrantz became Rosco, but we couldn't think of a shortened version of Guildenstern. So maybe Gildersleve. (We sometimes give terrible names to our dogs, in the hope that someone will take pity and rescue them, just to give them a new name.) Gildersleve is a gold and white shih tzu. Compared to his erstwhile buddy, Gildersleve is very quiet, and generally ignores all the ruckus going on about him, or looks at it with a hint of disdain. He seems to have his mind on the past or whatever home he left. He hasn't made friends here really, and remains aloof from the staff too. He doesn't seem depressed, however. He would probably blossom in a home where he got more attention than we can give him here. He's not aggressive at all, though if he's afraid he might be moved to protect himself. Up-to-date in shots, neutered, and ready for this home if someone will notice him and give him the time it takes to build up some trust. He's about 18 lbs. We think 4 years old on both him and his buddy, Rosco.
